THE CITY OF 100 HORIZONS
Asolo and the territory
The Asolo hills are a series of gently undulating slopes dotted with vineyards and olive groves surrounding the city itself. Described by Giosuè Carducci as the “city of a hundred horizons”, Asolo has one of the most remarkable and beautiful old city centres in Italy.
Embraced by ancient walls that branch out from the Rocca, the twelfth-century fortress, every part of this town is testimony to its millenary history. Its great appeal attracted poets and writers, artists and travellers, who here found inspiration and harmony. Among these, the English poet Robert Browning, the “Divine” stage actress Eleonora Duse, the composer Gian Francesco Malipiero, the English writer and traveller Freya Stark. Since the year 1000 A.D., Benedictine monks have here spread the culture of vine-growing and wine-making, which subsequently flourished with the Venetian Republic.
TENUTA AMADIO
Sustainability and Typicality
Our wines are born in the hills of Monfumo, at an altitude of 200m in the heart of the "Asolo prosecco" appellation. The property is developed in different estates: the Biss vineyard, the Longon vineyard and the Era Grande vineyard, which thanks to their terroirs offer grapes with different characteristics and are able to give the wines of Tenuta Amadio scents, aromas and fragrances that make them unique products of their kind. We can count on 25 hectares of property, 18 of which are planted with vineyards. Our distinctive features are sustainability at 360 degrees, not only in the vineyard, but throughout the production process and the attention to the territory that passes through the rediscovery of some ancient vines such as "Bianchetta Gentile". In the vineyard we practice sustainable agriculture, because we believe it is important to preserve our land in order to be able to give it fertile to subsequent generations, as we have received it as an inheritance.
A UNIQUE TERRITORY, A BRAND OF EXCELLENCE
In consortium
The Asolo Montello wine consortium was created for the protection of the designation of origin and the promotion of wines. The production area of the DOCG "Asolo Prosecco" develops north-west of the city of Treviso, in the hills-foothills of the Grappa. It is a small territory that brings together 14 municipalities including the entire territory of Monfumo.
The characteristics of "Asolo Prosecco" are the golden and brilliant yellow color, the fine and persistent perlage, a fruity aroma and a good body.
